April 2008
Drive In, Fly In, or Cycle In, The Second Annual “Cruise Your Ride to
Ingleside” Fly-In/Car Show Will Offer Something for Everyone!
April 26, 2008 at the T.P. McCampbell Airport in Ingleside will be a very
unique event held for a very good cause. It’s unique because it will
feature hot rods, show cars, motorcycles, lowriders, and
airplanes! This very innovative combination of Fly-In and Car Show is
also unique because it’s benefactor is over 120 years old. The
Ingleside Railroad Depot, built in 1887 by the Riley Railroad Construction
Company has a vast history and is in need of some serious renovation.
The Ingleside Chamber of Commerce hopes to someday rehabilitate the building
and move it out onto the highway as a Railroad Museum/Visitor’s Center.
The event will be well attended with car clubs coming in from San Antonio,
Victoria, Corpus Christi, Austin, and many points in between.
Airplanes from all over the state of Texas and beyond will also appear out
of the blue sky to be enjoyed by all.
Be prepared
for a thrill of your own as Air Czar will he on hand to give the public
helicopter rides!
The event will start with registration
from 10 – noon followed by a “Show-N-Shine” car viewing with judging from
12-4. The trophy presentations will be at 4:00 followed by a Cruise into
Ingleside.
Register your dog between 10 - noon for our Dog Show to
be held at 1:00. This first ever dog show is shaping up to be loads of
fun! With planned categories of: Tallest Dog, Smallest Dog, Cutest Puppy
(must be 6 months of younger) Ugliest Dog, Best Costume or Theme Dog Adult

October 2008
Round Up Days
Festival and Parade held on October 24-26, 2008 at
N.O. Simmons Park
in Ingleside. This festival features awesome live entertainment, a
great hometown parade, a fun carnival, horseshoe contests, country cook
offs. This traditional
festival dates all the way back to 1974, but was actually fashioned after
the Great Cattle Round Up of the 1800’s. In the 70’s and 80’s young ladies
could enter talent shows and beauty pageants to compete for Miss Chamber of
Commerce or Miss Ingleside. The early days are also when the famous Round
Up Days Parade became known as the “must see” for children and adults
alike. You could ask just about anyone in town about what they have done or
who they have seen at “Round Up Days” and you will hear an earful of good
times. For more information visit

Enchanted Forest Renaissance Faire
held on
December 13-14, 2008 at Live Oak Park, Ingleside. This event is Saturday
from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 noon – 5:00 pm. Nobles and plain folk will celebrate our
historical and cultural roots from the 15th - 17th
centuries. Guests partake of the folklore, the crafts, the history and the
magic of these distant times while they enjoy the music, dance, and food.
They visit our craftsmen and merchants, cooks and artists and try their hand
at feats of strength and skill. This is a wonderful time to celebrate the
Renaissance, which brought a rebirth of learning, arts, culture, and economy
to the world. Talented artists from all over the country travel to this
popular Faire to perform their plays, skits, music, dances and duels.
