Drive In, Fly In, or Cycle InThe Second Annual “Cruise Your Ride to Ingleside” Fly-In/Car Show Will Offer Something for Everyone!April 26, 2008 at the T.P. McCampbell Airport in Ingleside will be a very unique event held for a very good cause. It’s unique because it will feature hot rods, show cars, motorcycles, and airplanes! This very innovative combination of Fly-In and Car Show is also unique because it’s benefactor is over 120 years old. The Ingleside Railroad Depot, built in 1887 by the Riley Railroad Construction Company has a vast history and is in need of some serious renovation. The Ingleside Chamber of Commerce hopes to rehabilitate the building and move it out onto the highway as a Railroad Museum/Visitor’s Center. The event will be well attended with car clubs coming in from San Antonio, Victoria, Corpus Christi, Austin, and many points in between. Airplanes from all over the state of Texas and beyond will also appear out of the blue sky to be enjoyed by all. Be prepared for a thrill of your own as Air Czar will he on hand to give the public helicopter rides! The event will start with registration from 10 – noon followed by a “Show-N-Shine” car viewing with judging from 12-4. The trophy presentations will be at 4:00 followed by a Cruise into Ingleside. Register your dog between 10 - noon for our Dog Show to be held at 1:00. This first ever dog show is shaping up to be loads of fun! With planned categories of: Tallest Dog, Smallest Dog, Cutest Puppy (must be 6 months of younger) Ugliest Dog, Best Costume or Theme Dog Adult Owner, Best Costume or Theme Dog, Child Owner (16 and under), and Best Trick. The dog show event will benefit the Last Chance Rescue in Ingleside. There will be bands providing live music all day! The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this FREE EVENT! Swap Meet vendors are being sought and will provide unique wares for the shopping attendees. |
