Ingleside is located 18 miles northeast of
Corpus Christi, in San Patricio County. The
city has been experiencing unprecedented
growth due to: the U.S. Navy's choice of
Ingleside as a Homeport to Naval Station
Ingleside, the Mine Warfare Center of
Excellence, industry expansions, the
increased popularity of "ecotourism", such
as the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail;
the growing retirement community; and people
relocating to raise their families in a
leisurely paced community with an abundance
of nature and waterway resources.
According to recent Bureau of Census
population estimates, San Patricio County is
the second-fastest growing community in the
Coastal Bend. Out of Texas' 254 counties,
it ranks 43rd in terms of growth. Ingleside
continues to be the fastest growing
community in the county.
Approximately 6 million tourist visit the
Coastal Bend each year. Peak tourist month
are June and July with an average stay of
two days, but thanks to the sunny climate,
visitors pass through all year long. |
